Exhibition has just ended, last night I did my presentations to all of our parents! I was so nervous, and really tired, I did not get home in till 9:00 at night, I usually fall asleep at 7:45. I am really nervous for my mark.
My favorite part was when I got to talk about my Little Free Library, though I am calling it the MCS House of Books. It will be located by the younger students/south doors. The simple rule is take a book and leave one for others to enjoy! Action! For my action plan I have built The MCS House of Books for people to suggest books to each other in an easy and efficient way. I am also working with some teachers and adults to get a reading to dogs program here at Millarville in September. For next year I suggest to have a really good opening and closing. My group did this and it really got the attention of everyone. For the beginning we sat in chairs that were in a line facing the audience. We all put our heads down and said something that related to our topic one at a time in presenting order. Then we all stood up stacked our chairs and said Disabilities. We did our french and then our presentations. You need to catch the people who are watching, and get them to give you your full attention. Also never think that you still have time, act like the presentation is tomorrow.

I wish I could slow down time, this is the end of the third week already! I need a bunch more time. Today I have just finished an interview with a girl from Literacy for Life. She has definitely helped me work on my action piece. I am hoping that I can have dog's come in for kids to read to them and improve their reading. As that will take about in till next year I am also going to build a Little Free Library.
Today I have showed the attitudes of confidence and curiosity when I did my interview. The questions that I have asked are, where do the dog's from the dog tales program come in from? How long does each child read with a dog, and more so I can host a wonderful program at this school. After I finish this review I am planing to finish the last bit of my presentation and getting the opinions of my mentor and the girl who is helping everyone. It feels like time has flown by, it has already been two weeks and I have just finished my research. TWO WEEKS, it felt like just yesterday that I was stressing over what topic I would get and what I should do. I have been reading up on the facts all about reading disabilities/disorders, and realized that this can really affect a human's life, their job, education work, that is why my line of inquiry is, reading disabilities affect people in their everyday lives.
I am so luck, I have an amazing mentor, today my amazing mentor has been a great help to me and my group in every possible way, my mentor even made a chart to organize our information! I have answered each Key Concept, and am working on finding what other information that I will need to succeed! Next I am going to do one last bit of research and hopefully meet the person from Literacy for Life that I am going to interview, oh, did I not mention that? My teacher has hooked me up with an organisation that has children read to dog's to encourage them to read with no judgment, the dog does not care if you make a mistake in reading, the dog will always love you! I really like how my group is going, though sometimes we get off task, with our mentors help we can fix that part! I am an inquirer because I inquired into more about the reading to dog's and I know have an interview! I have gathered a bunch of interview questions that I am going to ask including, how much time does each person read with a dog? That was something that I could not find on the internet. With hopes that exhibition continues to go well I am finishing this weekly review. I have gotten my subject! My subject is Human Right's! Sadly though no one else wanted to do that, so I have been put in the Disabilities group! Since I wanted to education/reading I am using a bit of disabilities, so Reading Disabilities! My line of inquiry is, Reading disabilities affect people and their everyday lives. I have done a lot of research so far and I need to find out more about this one site that could introduce reading to a dog to Millarville as my act! I have discovered that this subject is really deep in emotions, such as bullying, sadness, and no encouragement to continue reading. I am here to show that, that is wrong and I am going to try and stop it! The questions that I asked, What is it like, to have disabilities? How do people get reading disabilities? Why do we judge people with reading disabilities? How can we change the opinions about others reading? How is not being able to read affect their education and jobs? What do we feel about reading disabilities? What can we do to help people with reading disabilities? How do we know reading disabilities affect their lives? I showed empathy, as a stood up for these people, and appreciation as I am happy that I have received such a good mentor! I used my wide use of knowledge to help me find the right sites. Things are going really well right know and I hope it continues to do so!
I am so nervous, exhibition has just started and we are thinking of topics. Looking at the ones I like the most I am considering Animal Welfare, Homelessness or Human Rights. I am hoping to somehow incorporate Me to We, a group that helps others all across the world. We have five weeks to work on our exhibition before we present, that includes research, practicing our speech, and working with a group. Luckily we have a mentor, this parent or person at the school will help us research and take ACTION!! I am really nervous about working with a group. I am hoping that I will get a well working group and we all have confidence in our topic, including me!
